The problems of the mechanical state rocks and other brittle materials are studied from different sides in a large number publications, flow which does not weaken with time, is explained by relevance complexity these problems. Quantitative values strength characteristics such can be obtained experimentally or using numerical analytical models. This work aimed at developing an model for analyzing material on example sandstone under axial compression axisymmetric proportional lateral pressure. research uses methods modeling systems based basic ideas fracture mechanics. For pressure, equation load–strain curve obtained, functions residual life damage justified; effective stresses modulus elasticity determined; calculation algorithm examples its application given. results simulation consistent experimental data known literature. to certain extent clarify understanding mechanism rock destruction
